Prior to passing in 2014 at the age of 81, comedienne Joan Rivers was known for her quick tongue and opulent taste. Her lavish palatial condo in Manhattan, which she shared with her four rescue dogs, has since been snapped up by Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Fahd for a cool US $28 million. According to neighbors, the prince and son of the late King Fahd and former governor of Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, is overhauling the interior of the 5,100 square foot, four-bedroom, 11-room penthouse. The current design is inspired by the lavish style of Louis XIV and Rivers was once quoted as saying that it was the type of place where “Marie Antoinette would have lived if she had the money.” However, considering the extensive renovations observed by neighbors, it is clearly not of modern royal taste.
