UAE-based Alabbar Enterprises took a US $113 million dollar stake in the Yoox Net-a-Porter Group; Qatar-based Mayhoola for Investments owns Valentino, Pal Zileri, and Anya Hindmarch; and Bahrain-based Investcorp owns Danish heritage brand Georg Jensen. Now, Etihad Airways has signed a multiyear contract with WME/IMG to revolutionize the way the international fashion industry travels in a bid to see a ripple effect across consumers. Without a doubt, this move further cements the GCC’s aspiration to up its ante as a leading player in the fashion world.

Starting with Sydney Fashion Week May 15th, Etihad Airways—the UAE’s national carrier—will give editors, models, designers, and show producers its signature royal treatment 10,000 feet up. Etihad Airways—one of the most luxurious airlines in the world—will tailor experiences for the global fashion industry players. James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ President and CEO remarked, “Etihad Airways Partners will collectively unveil a wide range of exciting new fashion initiatives for guests in our home market of Abu Dhabi and throughout the world.” Stylists, models, journalists, photographers, and designers can look forward to guest-focused promotions and travel-oriented programs.

Etihad Airways will officially sponsor New York Fashion Week, The Shows, MADE Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, London Collections: Men, Milan Fashion Week, Milano Moda Uomo, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, and Lakme Fashion Week (Mumbai). Etihad Airways Partners will also be part of Etihad Airways’ agreement.
