Berluti Celebrates French Savoir-Faire

To mark Berluti’s ongoing development in luxury menswear, the French heritage brand opened a new Parisian boutique on November 15th on 14 rue de Sèvres, and commissioned filmmakers Agnès Doolaeghe and Franck Mallez to produce an animated video depicting the brand’s attachment to the cultural heritage of Paris’ Rive Gauche [Paris’ Left Bank].

“Silhouettes, Paris, and Grande Mesure—we aimed at having a style that would be as simple and pure as possible,” explained Mallez to Nowness, referring to Berluti’s new short film, titled Grande Mesure. The animated flick is an ode to the spirit of the fashionable Rive Gauche and to French actor and cultural icon, Jacques Tati, who is pictured on a fictive working day in the City of Lights.

Located in the same building as the Berluti ateliers, the new Parisian flagship store is the brand’s largest boutique worldwide, and first store for bespoke tailoring. Clients can order the Grande Mesure service, with prices starting at US $8,600 for a suit.

This evening, Berluti will also celebrate the launch of a new boutique at The Galleria in the heart of Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi, with a private reception at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort. As a part of the upcoming Abu Dhabi Art Fair, the brand will feature a bespoke demo of shoemaking during the event, as well as an installation of live models showcasing the latest ready-to-wear collection. Berluti is sold in stores across the region, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, and Kuwait, and a flagship store on Allenby Street in Beirut.
