From Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas comes the Y-3 “In Football We Trust” apparel. In the spirit of the game’s simplicity and ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil this summer, Y-3 wants to remind us that despite the low standing reputation of those prima donna players on the international scene, true aficionados of the sport believe in fairness and sportsmanship.
Rather than printing an image of a player taking a dive, the apparel promotes sportsmanship with the “Shake Hands” image for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Yamamoto’s line includes T-shirts, a black Letterman bomber jacket, a classic, cotton knit scarf, as well as the Honja Hi and Sprint sneakers.
As for this year’s FIFA World Cup, let’s all throw a red card for all the divers and cheaters and proclaim, “In Football We Trust.”
