“Prince of Arab Music” to Headline Sharjah World Music Festival 2016

Renowned for his soulful voice and award-winning songs, Tunisian “Prince of Arab Music” Saber Rebaï will kick off the Sharjah World Music Festival on Thursday, January 7th, with a performance at the Al Majaz Amphitheatre. Rebaï has released 15 albums, including Hayyarouni, Sidi Mansour, Share’ El Gharam, Atahada El Alam, and Waheshni Giddan.

The music festival, which was held for the first time in 2014, has grown to include a number of musicians from the UAE, Tunisia, Syria, Jordan, and Palestine, as well as international artists from Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, Hungary, Russia, and Africa, to offer the audience a fusion of musical genres. Other musical highlights include performances by Hungarian artist Jozef Lendvay, Italian saxophonist Stefano Di Battista, Turkish musicians Taksim Trio, and singers Dima Bawab and Zein Awad from Jordan.

The festival, which is organized by Furat Qaddouri Music Centre and the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), will run until January 12th.
