Who Let the Dog Out?

You may be all grown up now, but we know you still love cartoons. We certainly do (and are secure enough to admit it).

Breaking with the style of classic advertising campaigns, Trussardi opted for an animated short-clip to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its signature Greyhound logo.

The Italian luxury label has teamed up with Japanese illustrator Yuko Shimizu and visual effects expert James Lima to produce Sky Watcher, a 3-minute animated film set around Milan. Steve Mackey, former member of the iconic Brit-pop band, Pulp, supervised the film’s music.

The Greyhound embodies the spirit of the brightest star in the heavens. While Milan sleeps, the stars come down to earth to play,” said James Lima, referring to the film, which features a playful game of hide-and-seek between the brand’s greyhound and a rabbit. The animated characters run through the old center of Milan and bring to life its many famous landmarks, such as the Duomo Cathedral, the circular Pomodoro sculpture, and the Navigli canals.

The Greyhound is a distinct symbol of curiosity and elegance, with a vein of irreverence, which is why we decided to celebrate it in a modern and fun way,” concluded Gaia Trussardi, the brand’s Creative Director.
