This month, rapper Shawn “Jay Z” Carter will join the growing ranks of celebrities with their own fragrance line.
The men’s scent, dubbed Gold Jay Z, will debut at Barneys New York on November 20th and comes amidst a broader fashion collaboration between the musician and the retailer. And on November 29th, known as Black Friday (the biggest shopping day of the year in the USA), the fragrance will begin being distributed at more than 2,000 stores nationwide, including Macy’s, Sephora, Nordstrom, and Dillard’s, among others.
The fragrance is a white fougère and will range in price from USD$39-70. Other available products within the collection include an aftershave pour, a deodorant, and a shower gel.
An international rollout is being planned for Spring 2014 and includes Germany, Mexico, Scandinavia, the UK, Australia, and various duty free locations. No word yet on when the fragrance will officially reach Middle Eastern stores.
Time will tell if this fragrance—like many other aspects within Jay Z’s storied career—will turn to gold.
