When Lamborghini first made itself known, in the early days of the legendary 350 GT, there was no mistaking that a new challenger had stepped into the ring. Over generations, the fighting bull has always been on the cutting edge of design as well as good old-fashioned awesomeness.
Now, it is stepping into a new realm, or rather, testing the waters. The Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4, is its first hybrid to come out of Bologna, Italy. Now breathe, because it’s only a concept model. The new Asterion, if it ever sees the light of day, would roll out with a mid-mounted 5.2L V10 engine, which is paired with three electric motors charged by a plug-in powered battery pack. This team effort is capable of producing 910 horsepower that will burst into the Plaza de Toros with a top speed of around 320km/h, charging from 0-100km/h in 3.0 seconds. You might be asking yourself just what can those electric motors do? They allow the Asterion, Greek for “ruler of the stars,” to cruise over 120km/h without burning a drop of gas.
And yes, those doors will scissor. So stand back.
