Premier League Champions Face Off Against Al Ain FC

man-cityPremier league champions Manchester City will soon travel to its home away from home—Abu Dhabi—to face off in an exhibition match against Al Ain FC.

Fresh off a win this past weekend over West Ham United (2-0), the English Premier champions took home their second FA Cup in three years, but will be back on the pitch come Wednesday in Abu Dhabi to host a training session for fans before their exhibition match.

If you couldn’t already tell by the “Etihad” branded across the Manchester City jersey, the British team is sponsored by the airline and is owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, the deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, who decided to celebrate the League title win by having some football cake with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.

For those of you who can’t wait for football furor to reach its four-year climax at this summer’s 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, find your way to the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, the brand new 25,000 seat stadium in Abu Dhabi. Maybe if you make it to Wednesday’s practice, they’ll let you lace up and join in. On second thought, maybe they won’t.
