I Don’t Really Need People, But People Need Me

“I don’t really need people, but people need me”
—Julia Roberts

“Everything here needs me”
—Harrison Ford

“Life starts with me”
—Lupita Nyong’o

No, these words aren’t coming from a shocking interview in a tabloid, rather, they stem from an adventure of the noble kind. In an effort to raise awareness for the state of “Mother Earth,” Conservation.org has rounded up a number of the world’s A-list actors and invited each to interpret an element of nature. The actors remain unseen in the videos, acting as a voice-over, but the effect is nonetheless quite powerful. In her role as Mother Earth, Julia Roberts narrates an inspirational text, playing the part of a furious mother, one who is disappointed in her children but remains worried for their future. She is stern and aims to show the right path (yes, just like an Arab mother), all the while the videos showcase powerful images of nature.
