Sony has finally unboxed the highly anticipated PlayStation 5, much to the delight of millions of gamers worldwide.
In an hour-long showcase at the weekend they treated us to a first look at the console – or should that be consoles – and some of its upcoming next-gen games.
With the swath of new game releases – one reveals it’s set none other than right here in Dubai.
The trailer for Hitman 3 shows a sneak peek of one of the game’s missions which takes place amid the skyscrapers and in a fancy hotel in the emirate.
The original release of this popular classic stealth espionage game hit shelves back in 2000 and is published by IO Interactive. The third in the series is scheduled for release next January. Sony also ran through some other hi-profile releases including Horizon: Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and more.
“You’ve seen games that can only be enjoyed with the full range of PlayStation 5’s features and power,” Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan commented during the presentation.
Enhanced features of the new console will see gamers enjoy superior visuals thanks to new technology such as advanced rendering or ray tracing. Sony also emphasized once again that the new solid-state hard drive speeds could make a huge difference to exclusive games, including more intricate and dynamic in-game worlds as well as slashing loading times.
The gaming giants have confirmed that the PS5 will be launching later this year, presumably right in time for the festive season.
