Lebanese actor Nicolas Mouawad has revealed that his upcoming role is in a film by Mad Max director George Miller.

Mouawad shared the news at this year’s El Gouna Film Festival in Egypt. “This year keeps getting better for me,” he said speaking to online news platform El Shai at the annual film festival. “Actors live and die without even getting close to an opportunity like this.”

There is little known about the film, however, it is sure to be a success with director George Miller being no strange to critical acclaim. Mouawad has stated he feels so “blessed to be able to take part in such a movie with a legend,” referring to Oscar-winner Miller, who won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film for Happy Feet in 2007.

The 41-year-old actor is expected to travel to Australia to shoot the film, which was originally planned to start filming earlier this year but had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to his upcoming role, Mouawad recently joined the cast of the Egyptian thriller film Mako. He is also adding another role to his schedule as he is one of the new hosts of the talk show A’det Regala, which is currently in its third season.

Mouawad began his career as a host of the daily television show Rotana Cafe, with his first acting role in Marwan Najjar’s 2006 television drama Helm Athar. However, in more recent years, Mouawad has also starred in a number of English language films. The upcoming David Helling film, His Only Son, will see Mouawad take on the role of the protagonist, Prophet Abraham, with the actor sharing the trailer for the movie on Instagram. “While waiting for the world to fully open again, I am super happy to share with you the trailer of His Only Son, the American movie I shot last summer in LA with the incredibly talented cast and crew,” he wrote.
