With Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One releasing soon, the UAE is prepared to host the film’s Middle East Premiere at Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi. On June 26, the red carpet event will be attended by the cast and crew – including Tom Cruise himself, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Simon Pegg and director Christopher McQuarrie.
With the support of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission which is part of the Creative Media Authority, the expansive landscape of the Liwa desert and the iconic Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal were used as locations for the film. Multiple entities from across Abu Dhabi also helped ease various complexities in the shoot such as building an Arabian village in the desert and multiple sets at the terminal. The cast and crew of the film shot in the emirate for almost two weeks in 2021 at the height of the pandemic with strict protocols in place for safety.

This is not the first time that a Mission Impossible film has been shot in Abu Dhabi. It was actually the success of shooting Mission Impossible: Fallout in Abu Dhabi that convinced Paramount Pictures to return for a second time. HE Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Acting Director General of Creative Media Authority, said: “Hosting the premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is an honor for Abu Dhabi and is also a reflection of the position the emirate holds as one of MENA’s top film and TV locations.”
He added, “We are proud to have worked with such a genre-defining franchise once again and it demonstrates how Abu Dhabi has everything filmmakers need to successfully complete such large, complex productions.”
