Paul Smith Creates Year of the Dog Capsule Collection

Year of the Dog capsule collection from Paul Smith including these red envelopes.

It seems like these days some of the best things are being released as part of a capsule collection, and Paul Smith is always reliable when it comes to a nice twist on a staple piece. Following on from his recent collaboration with the band REM this new collection is a great little release for the start of the year.

With 2018 marking the Year of the Dog in the Chinese zodiac, Paul Smith has created a series of celebratory accessory pieces based around a graphic dog motif.

The men’s range features three pieces including this classic-style white long-sleeve shirt with a repeating dog print…

And perhaps best of all, a small dog motif on a pair of white and red Levon sneakers. Paul Smith has notably good for sneakers over the last few years with a big range that largely hits that sweet spot between formal and overly casual.

Further personalization can also be added with the complimentary monogramming service, which is available on a range of red wallets, purses and cardholders.

To further celebrate this time of year, Paul Smith has created Chinese New Year red envelopes to be shared with friends and families. It’s traditional in Chinese culture to hand over a red envelope with a token amount of money when wising someone a happy new year. The envelopes feature Paul Smith’s individual take on the Year of the Dog, and the design also feature the key ocean print which we are going to be seeing a lot more of in the SS18 collection.

The Paul Smith Chinese New Year products will be available in Paul Smith shops and online from January.
