The spirit of travel and the warm brown and gold colors of the region’s deserts were the inspiration for Vacheron Constantin’s new special edition watches. The two models that make up the Overseas collection have been designed with flowing, ergonomic lines, subtle effects, and delicate finishes. Both watches bear the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva and are available exclusively in the Middle East.
The Overseas Chronograph watch is equipped with the Calibre 5200 self-winding chronograph movement. Newly developed by Vacheron Constantin, the movement is the result of a five-year development process. The 263-components that make up the Calibre 5200 are fitted with a column wheel that coordinates the chronograph’s start, stop and reset functions, as well as a vertical coupling clutch to prevent any jerking of the hand when the chronograph starts. This movement is equipped with a twin barrel to enhance its torque and its reliability while ensuring more than 50 hours of power reserve.
The watch has a 18ct pink gold 42.5mm case. Its screwed-down pushpieces, crown, and caseback guarantee water-resistance up to 150 meters, while the watch’s transparent back reveals a 22ct gold oscillating weight adorned with a wind rose. This new model comes with two brown straps, one leather and one rubber. Both are fitted with an interchangeable pink gold folding clasp.
The second watch in the collection, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Small Model, is decorated with 84 round-cut diamonds. These are set on a six-sided bezel. At the heart of the watch’s stainless steel or 18ct pink gold 37 mm-diameter case is the Swiss watchmaker’s new Calibre 5300 self-winding movement. A pair of gold luminescent hands sweep across the watch’s brown dial. The back of the watch features a 22ct gold oscillating weight adorned with a wind rose. The Overseas Small Model comes with a 18K pink gold bracelet along with two interchangeable straps in leather and rubber.
