Further cementing Dior Men’s relationship with the region, the brand has announced Egyptian actor Ahmed Malek as its first Middle East ambassador for fashion and fragrances. The Cairo-born actor, known for his work in acclaimed films like Clash, and the series Zay El Shams, has been tapped to represent some of the house’s most coveted scents and menswear by artistic director Kim Jones.
The actor has a longstanding relationship with the brand, having frequented a number of the fashion house’s launches and events, including the SS24 menswear show in Paris this year. The 27-year-old star’s sartorial sense is also in line with Dior’s timeless yet dynamic creations, as a quick scroll on Malek’s social media would prove. Sleek tailoring, thoughtfully curated oversized looks, and statement pieces are just some of the mainstays of the actor’s wardrobe.
Malek’s filmography also earned him a spot in one of the Toronto International Film Festival’s Rising Stars in 2018. His first English-speaking role was in The Furnace, an Australian film directed by Roderick MacKay, which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2020, and later played at the El Gouna Film Festival. More recently, he appeared in the Netflix film The Swimmers, based on the life of Syrian refugees Yusra and Sara Mardini.
