When it comes to fashion weeks, one brand is bucking the recent trend of presenting men’s collections along with women’s. Givenchy will return to the Men’s Fashion Week schedule next January, the French maison has revealed, in its first dedicated menswear show since creative director Clare Waight Keller took the helm in 2017.
Givenchy’s Fall 2019 line for men will be presented at a as-of-yet-undisclosed location on January 16 in Paris, following several seasons of coed shows. Menswear will, however, continue to be showcased alongside womenswear at the label’s ready-to-wear and haute couture shows, WWD reports. “Granting men’s wear a dedicated platform starting from January reflects the house’s support of Clare Waight Keller’s vision for the brand,” Givenchy said, according to the publication.
The heritage maison most recently presented its collections side-by-side for Spring 2019, joining labels such as Celine, Burberry, and Gucci, who have sent out both men’s and women’s looks in shows. Could this be marking a return to tradition for Fall 2019? We’ll be watching the Men’s Fashion Week calendar in anticipation.
