Timothée Chalamet Makes the Case for Sneakers with Suits

While other young celebrities spend their days in Supreme and Yeezy, Timothée Chalamet prefers to keep things dapper. The actor has relied upon a wardrobe of bespoke tailoring during the promotional tour for his latest film, Beautiful Boy, and he makes each look count. The spiffy crimson Louis Vuitton suit he unveiled at the Los Angeles premiere of the new movie is a prime example.

The actor has toyed with several unconventional takes on tailoring in the past few weeks. He took on embellishment at the Toronto International Film Festival last month, stepping out in an embroidered Haider Ackerman ensemble. That fantastic outfit was followed shortly after at the San Sebastián Film Festival in Spain by an Alexander McQueen suit covered in birds of paradise.

Chalamet’s latest outfit is more minimalist in aesthetic, but no less interesting. Though he skipped the logo belt worn during the show, the actor accessorized with a pair of the brand’s white running sneakers, a styling move that was right in line with Virgil Abloh’s youthful city slicker vision. Add in the unexpected color, T-shirt beneath his blazer, and Chalamet’s nonchalant vibe, and you have the makings of a scene-stealing menswear moment.
