Cristiano Ronaldo is already repping Saudi Arabia, his new adoptive country through his style. Upon landing in the Kingdom, the Portuguese striker and Al Nassr club‘s new star player sported Jacob & Co.‘s Caviar Tourbillon Tsavorites, which is a stunning timepiece in green—the color most associated with the country.
The unique watch is covered entirely in tsavorites, a green, grossular garnet, whose name is derived from the Kenya region of Tsavo, near where it was originally mined. A total of 224 gems are set on the surface of the 47-mm Caviar case, while 130 more are invisibly set on the dial, and a final 18 are on the buckle. These 373 gems total up 38.57 ct of tsavorites, and their roughs have been chosen directly from the mine because of their rectangular-enough shape. One last gem, a 1.2 ct rose-cut tsavorite, has been set inside the crown head. What’s more, all the bridges visible on the movement and the entire rotor are set with 338 brilliant-cut, white diamonds, totaling 1.32 ct, making the timepiece that much more exclusive.
Ronaldo is a brand ambassador for Jacob & Co., and has collaborated with the American high jeweler on many CR7-themed watches. Noteworthy pieces also include one that features Ronaldo scoring against Manchester United in a 2013 match.
