Unveiled to the world earlier this month, the new Dior Chiffre Rouge revives the original timepiece from 20 years ago, which marked the fashion house’s first significant venture into automatic watches for men. The 2024 range features eight models, with the first five currently in stores, and others rolling out in July and October.

The timepiece exudes exclusivity in every sense, with its name, in particular, referring to secret codes of chivalry and heraldry. Created under the eye of Lan Cittadini Cesi, director of Dior’s jewelry and watchmaking business unit, the Chiffre Rouge is available in 38mm or 41mm cases. The range comes in blackened steel with sporty accents in red all over, while many of the original model’s unmistakable details are carried over. These include its asymmetrical case with an enlarged right side and the off-center crown at 4 o’clock. Another highlight is the number 8 in red, which signifies Christian Dior’s lucky number in his hallmark color. Luxe touches are also incorporated via Dior’s cannage motif, a metallic rose gold back panel, and gemstones in select models.

As for the straps, the watch comes with three interchangeable ones in macro-enhanced rubber, micro-cannage, and precious leather. The July launch will see 100 pavé dial models with gem-set rainbow indices and bezel alongside five colored interchangeable straps, while October will roll out two 100-piece editions in steel and grey with rose-gold accents.
