Dior has announced the much-anticipated release of the Dior x Air Jordan 1 High/Low OG and accompanying Air Dior capsule in collaboration with Team Jordan.
Originally revealed by Kim Jones at the French Luxury house’s Fall 2020 men’s show in Miami, fans have been tapping their size 11s impatiently for the release of the limited-edition collaborative sneakers and range of ready-to-wear and accessories.
The launch of the sneakers — in low-top and high-top versions – will take the form of an exclusive online experience to access these creations.
Via a dedicated microsite individuals will be invited to register for the guaranteed opportunity to buy one pair of these sneakers and will be asked to choose their preferred model (either high-top or low-top sneakers); a pop-in store or pop-up pickup location; and the size. Each participant may select just one boutique and register only once for the desired style and size. Air Jordan 1 OG Dior sneakers will be available for purchase exclusively in selected Dior pop-ups and pop-in stores only by registering on the digital microsite.
A limited number of sneakers will be allocated to each of the participating boutiques and the guaranteed opportunity to secure these sneakers will be given on a first-come, first-served basis to the lucky individuals who register before the inventory is exhausted. Dior will then invite the qualified participants to visit the Dior boutique they selected to purchase their sneakers.
The store pick-up date will be sent via SMS or email shortly following verification of eligibility. A unique QR code with the individual’s name will be issued. A matching government-issued ID will be required at the time of purchase.
Celebs such as Travis Scott are already all over this limited edition sneaker but the Air Dior capsule collection of ready-to-wear and accessories, in collaboration with Jordan Brand, will be available to shop at Dior pop-in stores from July as well as in two pop-up stores located inside the Selfridges Corner Shop (London) and Taikoo Li (Chengdu).
So it looks like this may be the new way to shop exclusives? We are definitely intrigued.
