The Must-See Looks From Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Sartoria Show

This weekend, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2018 Alta Sartoria collection, the Italian label’s high-end couture menswear component. The extravagant presentation unfolded in Italy’s Villa Carlotta museum at Lake Como, only an hour away from the designers’ atelier in Milan, in the presence of press, editors, clients, and A-listers such as former One Directioner Liam Payne.

Featuring a diverse cast of models and artists, the Alta Sartoria catwalk presentation included rapper Tinie Tempah, actor Aurelien Muller, and fashion influencer Marco Fantini who emerged against the backdrop of decades-old sculptures by the likes ofAntonio Canova and Bertel Thorvaldsen, wearing regal couture creations that were inspired by Lake Como itself. “Alta Sartoria” translates to “high tailoring”, which means there were plenty of sequins, lush materials such as velvet, gold embroidery, and hand-painted motifs on suits, tops, jackets, shorts and sleepwear literally fit for royalty. In the gallery above, see some of the best looks from the epic show.
