Following the “Baguette is Back” trend that took off this year, Fendi recently reinvented its iconic women’s Baguette bag for men. Designed by creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi, the bag has been reproportioned in three different sizes – maxi, regular, and mini. It is also made in a wide range of materials to showcase the Maison’s savoir-flaire and creativity. In celebration of the It-bag’s addition to the world of menswear, the Italian luxury fashion house has released a new short movie.

Titled, “Exploring the Men’s Baguette World,” it features three friends, influencers Marc Fornè, Leo Mandella and Nasir Dean in a playful scenario swinging between reality and dream. From Fendi’s menswear pop-up store in Milan, the models are transported to a parallel fantastic universe surrounded by vivid, neon lights. The movie also stars the different variants of the bag from regular to maxi, in black and yellow Selleria Cuoio Romano leather, grey nylon, and in the special Karl collage print fabric — all of them fitted with the signature double FF clasp.

The Baguette’s reinvention brings with it a play of straps reflecting Fendi’s value for modern functionality. Boasting utility, it can be worn in multiple ways, from cross-body to hand-carried or as a cool belt bag to carry all essentials.
Since Venturini Fendi created the bag in 1997, it has seen many updates while for women, the coveted handbag has held an undisputed iconic status. In this age of an increasing number of gender-neutral clothing and accessories, Fendi’s menswear version of the bag might be on the path to achieving the same status.
