Held in Florence, Italy twice a year since 1972, Pitti Uomo is one of the world’s most iconic trade fairs for men’s clothing and accessory collections and this season it will play host to the French luxury house’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
Not only will this be a departure for the LVMH-owned house from its home in Paris but it will also see Waight Keller showcasing her first standalone men’s catwalk show. In January, Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 2019 menswear collection debuted with a 17-piece lookbook which featured oil-slick coats, ’70s silhouettes and streetwear-inspired casual wear. Speaking to WWD Waight Keller said, “January was almost like the first chapter in the book. Pitti is the opportunity to take that step into a much broader collection, and that’s a big opportunity for me to really express what I want to do, and also just my more rounded vision of what I want for the Givenchy man.”
