To celebrate the release of the new Louis Vuitton and Nike Air Force 1 designed by Virgil Abloh, the French fashion house has planned a series of exciting events, one of which is a one-of-a-kind exhibit in New York City, which is allowing visitors to get up close and personal with 47 special editions of the much-loved shoe.

Taking place from May 20-31 at the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse, the exhibition is serving as a build up to an official drop—come June 2022, nine new variations of the Air Force 1, which were first seen in the spring/summer 2022 men’s collection, will be made available to the public through an inclusive digital activation, with members of the brand’s insider community being offered early access to order the shoes.

The exhibit itself takes visitors into an alternate universe of holographic displays, magnetized walls, 3D print statues, and mirror ceilings, paying homage to the late Abloh with graffiti detailing that reads “Virgil was here”, and amping up Louis Vuitton’s iconic print by rendering it in shades of fuchsia, lime green, and everything in between. The exhibit showcases the Air Force 1s in both, physical and virtual form, in a playful setting that promises to make it an experience to remember. To make it a truly global affair, the exhibit will take place at the same time as several other corresponding installations will around the Big Apple and the world. Keep an eye out for its eye-catching façade, which sees the venue pop against NY’s streets in a bold orange, with a fun Louis Vuitton x Nike logo.

Crafted in Fiesso d’Artico, Venice, Italy, the new generation of Air Force 1s seamlessly blend the distinct aesthetic of the late Virgil Abloh, who served as men’s artistic director of Louis Vuitton from 2018-2021, with Louis Vuitton’s finest leather, making for a winning combination.
