Over the past two years, the fashion industry has largely been affected by the Covid-19 crisis. However, it seems that the industry is determined to make a vigorous return, despite everything.
Though the widespread of Omicron, a variant of Covid-19, the fashion week’s schedule of live shows remained unchanged. However, Italian designer Giorgio Armani announced that his coming shows at Milan Fashion Week Men’s edition have been canceled because of soaring cases of the new Omicron variant all over Europe.
Despite the ongoing health restrictions, designers at fashion week preferred to present their freshest collections mainly via physical shows, side-by-side with live-streamed or digital editions. Out of 76 fashion houses in the official schedule of men’s fashion runways, most shows were physically presented, including Dolce & Gabbana, Dsquared2 and more. In addition to this is were Kenzo, under the leadership of Japanese designer Nigo, the house’s new artistic director; and Louis Vuitton, which showcased the latest collection of Virgil Abloh, the Gen-Z favorite designer and the first black man to lead a haute couture house until he passed away last November at the age of 41 after a battle with cancer.
