New Balance and Paul Smith Kick Off the World Cup With Collaboration

In celebration of the 2018 World Cup, which kicks off on June 14 in Russia, New Balance and Paul Smith have joined forces to create a limited-edition capsule collection of football trainers, boots, and soccer balls. The sporty range, simply titled New Balance x Paul Smith, is available for purchase in selected Paul Smith stores and online, just in time for the hotly anticipated sporting tournament.

The collection features three pairs of sneakers — a New Balance x Paul Smith MiUK-One Football Boot, and two new versions of the cult-favorite New Balance 576 Made in England trainer in black and white color ways. Additionally, the special collaboration with the British designer coincides with the 576 sneaker’s 30th anniversary. However, you may want to act fast — there are only 1,008 pairs of the super limited-edition men’s sneaker available to buy.

Along with the footwear comes New Balance x Paul Smith footballs. Each design is infused with Paul Smith’s signature multi-colored stripes in one way or another. For instance, a traditional leather soccer (if you’re reading this overseas) ball stamped with the American footwear label’s “N” logo comes in an all-over striped design, while the football cleat features vertical rainbow streaks on the insole, heel counter, and tongue.

Paul Smith is a seasoned football fan. The designer has previously released limited-edition footballs during past World Cups, including at the 2014 tournament in Brazil. Peruse the slides in the gallery above for a preview of the World Cup-ready New Balance x Paul Smith collection.
