In the realm of films, few events are as special as Red Sea International Film Festival. The 2023 edition of the annual celebration took over the city of Jeddah this week, and just like last year, brought together some of the most noteworthy names in the industry — not just from the region, but from across the globe.
In true RSIFF style, the stars went all-out with their red carpet looks this week. While women (think Yousra, Dorra Zarrouk, Lojain Omran, Fatrima Al Banawi, and many, many more) opted for statement-making dresses and gowns, the men in attendance commanded attention with their sharp looks.
From the region, Dhafer L’Abidine attended the premiere of his new film A Nose And Three Eyes in an all-black suit, as did both Georges Khabbaz and Ahmed Dawood. Ahmed Magdy mixed things up, looking dapper in shades of sandy brown, and Amir El-Masry went the classic route with a tux and bowtie.
This year’s Red Sea International Film Festival saw more than just a few faces from Hollywood in attendance as well. Will Smith greeted guests in a navy blue look, while Johnny Depp accentuated his black suit with a pop of red. Going more relaxed with their wardrobes were Andrew Garfield, Henry Golding and Chris Hemworth, all of whom favored soothing shades of gray, ranging from light fog shades to deep charcoal.
No red carpet is complete without some drama, of course, and this year’s male celebrities more than delivered. Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh accepted his award in a shimmer-detailed jacket, Ed Westwick posed for cameras in a luxe blue jacquard ensemble, and Nicholas Cage went for a bold statement in his scarlet blazer + trousers combination.
