Riccardo Tisci’s LFW Debut Marks New Era for Burberry

Riccardo Tisci presented his much-anticipated debut Spring 2019 collection for Burberry last night. Showcasing two very different menswear looks, his new collection celebrated the diversity and the heart of England. Models with slicked-back hair first strutted down the catwalk in an array of formal and refined officewear, from pinstripe suits to suave shirts with built-in tie fasteners all layered under debonair outerwear. In muted colors of black, navy, grey, and khaki, the sharp and clean aesthetic was a nod to Burberry’s heritage and roots. Utilitarian accessories were also out in force, with practical yet stylish umbrella holsters, leather passport holders on lanyards, and backpacks worn as belt bags.

What followed was a parade of the more signature Tisci street-style vibe, with graphic and cheetah print T-shirts, the classic and new Burberry insignia on sweats, and looser silhouettes in palettes of cherry red, pale mint, and khaki. The show paid homage to the individuality, eccentricity, and inimitable attitude of Britain – scroll through the gallery above to discover the Spring 2019 collection highlights.
