Puma’s collaboration with Danish streetwear brand Han Kjøbenhavn is a collection of understated, everyday sportswear classics. Perhaps that’s no surprise, as Scandinavia has a lock on sleek and simple design in everything from fashion to home furnishings. Puma has been at the forefront of sportswear for the last 65 years, while Han Kjøbenhavn, which was founded in 2008, has established itself as one of the strongest streetwear brands in Scandinavia.
Han Kjøbenhavn’s creative director, Jannik Davidsen, channeled his fondness for his hometown of Copenhagen, into the collection, looking to the city’s local football scene and urban architecture for inspiration. The line features footwear and clothing, with its take on the classic Puma Clyde sneaker the standout piece.
The collaboration has created a fresh new look for the white leather sneaker’s silhouette, with thick rubber soles available in brown or gray, complete with the Puma x Han Kjøbenhavn branding subtly stitched on the side. The Tsugi Kori sneaker merges a futuristic style with muted tones. The shoe’s high upper consists of a mix of suede and leather combined with an elongated knitted, sock/ankle collar atop the Tsugi tooling.
As for the clothes, the trench coat is inspired by the iconic coats that were once worn by countless football fans on the terraces at grounds across Copenhagen and Denmark. With the Danish weather at the core of its designs, Han Kjøbenhavn created a sweater with a three-layer bonded fabric construction and a stand collar as well as a wind cheater-style jacket, alongside a range of branded T-shirts and sports trousers.
