The 91st edition of the Academy Awards unfolded on Sunday, bringing with it a drove of Hollywood stars who descended upon Los Angeles’s Hollywood & Highland Center dressed to the nines. Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek accepted his Best Actor award wearing an expertly-tailored black tuxedo from Saint Laurent, which he accessorized with a crisp white button up and a black bowtie. Meanwhile, Mahershala Ali won the best supporting actor for his role as Don Shirley in Green Book, maintaining his history-making status as the only Muslim actor to win an Oscar (he took the award in the same category in 2017 for Moonlight), in a black Ermenegildo Zegna suit elevated with a matching beanie and specs. Elsewhere, Jason Momoa paid a sartorial tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld by choosing a blush-colored, velvet Fendi design with a matching scrunchie complete with its own mini Fendi label around his wrist. But it wasn’t all suits and ties. Pharrell Williams arrived to the red carpet wearing a camouflage-print shorts and jacket combo with Doc Martens and long, white socks, while Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman chose a black sequin jacket with a train from Givenchy, which shone even brighter paired with Bulgari jewelry.
