Bonjour from Paris, where the Spring 2019 runways have taken over the City of Lights. Showcasing its first-ever menswear collection, Celine debuted a “Paris la Nuit” collection steeped in a predominantly black color palette with Hedi Slimane’s signature style drainpipe leather trousers, razor-sharp tailoring, and cropped leather jackets. Over at Balenciaga there was a futuristic theme with neo-form tailoring – think squared and strong shoulders, oversized jumpers, and silk-button down shirts with smatterings of the iconic logo dominating. Givenchy presented traditional suits in vibrant shades of blue and lilac whilst Gucci sent models down the catwalk in strong lines, nostalgic suits, and preppy jumpers with injections of geek chic. Haider Ackermann offered a completely unisex proposition with hounds-tooth tailoring, bold colors, and boxy cotton shirts.
