Meghan Markle’s Makeup Artist Reveals How He Keeps His Skin in Prime Condition

He is renowned for making one of the world’s most famous faces even more radiant, but Daniel Martin also pays plenty of due care and attention to his own visage. The celebrity makeup artist, who was behind Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s glowy royal wedding look earlier this year, has finally shared his own skincare routine with his legion of fans. The industry pro, who has also worked with Jessica Alba, Elisabeth Moss, and Cindy Bruna, this week showed his 81,000 Instagram followers what he relies on to keep his complexion in tip-top shape. And we’re stealing a couple of his top grooming tips to add to our own morning regime.

A few of you have DM’d me about my own personal skincare routine and these are what I’m travel with right now. I I do this only once a week cuz my skin tends to be sensitive and too much “stuff” to it can cause it to erupt (I suffered from cystic acne). After the shower I use the black strip on my nose. It’s a Japanese charcoal pore thingy and I actually do it every couple weeks. It can get aggressive and I’ve broken capillaries around my nose before cuz they’ve been so strong 😬🤦🏻‍♂️ Afterwards I’ll use the @paulaschoice all over my face for 10 minutes and rinse with cold water. I then finish off with either the @clarksbotanicals or @tatcha mask. I leave that on for about 20 mins and wipe off with a warm wash cloth. Then that’s it! I don’t like to sleep in serums or oils cuz I wake up feeling greasier. Hope this helps 👍🏼 #skincareroutine #makeupartist

Martin, who is a Dior Beauty ambassador, revealed he is prone to bouts of cystic acne, telling fans that he strips back his routine in order not to aggravate his skin. “I do this only once a week because my skin tends to be sensitive and too much ‘stuff’ to it can cause it to erupt,” he captioned an image of the four products in his current arsenal. Among the beauty and grooming guru’s tried-and-tested roster are charcoal nose strips from Korean brand Nesura, which Martin only uses every few weeks. “It can get aggressive and I’ve broken capillaries around my nose before because they’ve been so strong,” he said (so pay heed before adding these to your bathroom cabinet. Super sensitive skins should likely steer clear).

The star also relies on Paula’s Choice‘s Weekly Resurfacing Treatment, a liquid exfoliant with 10% glycolic acid and age-fighting antioxidants. This should be applied once a week after cleansing your face, and can either be left on or washed off. Martin also uses the Deep Moisture Mask by Clark’s Botanicals, or the Violet-C Radiance Mask by Tatcha, to inject moisture into his skin. It might take a little longer than a splash of water and go, but looking at his A-list clientele, we might be stealing his routine for a once-weekly pamper, especially since summer has left our skin so parched…
