The king of survival, Bear Grylls, is launching a new project in the UAE, and it’s fairly mega. The mighty Jebel Jais – the UAE’s tallest mountain – will be the setting for Grylls’ latest project: The Explorers Camp – and it does what it says on the tin.
The home of adventure in the UAE is Ras Al Khaimah with its mountainous terrain, high peaks, and wadis, making it a no-brainer location for the project. The camp will offer unique training and overnight stays in 20 containers, that can each accommodate three people at the summit of the peak.
Grylls has already successfully rolled out this concept in the UK and hopes to replicate it here in the Emirate.

Courses will include everything from basic to extreme survival skills, from making a fire to building emergency shelters to knife handling. (Camel circus optional, of course!) They will be hosted in half-day, eight-hour, and 24-hour sessions, all run by Grylls’ hand-picked expert team from the UK’s academy.
The campsite will be self-catering and offer plenty of r&r after a hard day on the peaks including private outdoor terraces and personal barbecue areas for meal prep dedicated to each accommodation station.
