UFC Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has been Awarded a Dubai Star

If the lightweight championship title wasn’t enough for Russian UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, UAE has decided to award him with his own Dubai Star.

The 30-year-old visited The Dubai Mall on September 11 where he was handed the plaque in an exclusive ceremony.

The official account of Emaar wrote on Instagram, “We proudly handed over today a #DubaiStar to the Champion @Khabib_Nurmagomedov in @TheDubaiMall. Mr. Ahmad Al Falasi, Executive Director of Group Operations at Emaar, welcomed Nurmagomedov and granted him his star which will soon be placed in @DowntownDubai!”

Some of Nurmagomedov’s lucky fans even got a chance to meet, greet, and take pictures with their favorite fighter during this special moment.

Following Nurmagomedov’s massive win against his opponent Dustin Poirier on September 7 at The Arena, Yas Island, the MMA fighter has been touring the city and meeting with royals.
