It’s that time of year again when students from the UAE make the journey overseas to start their studies. Only, this is not just any old regular year, as travel has been restricted, it is certainly more stressful of late due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Emirates Airlines has stepped up to try to alleviate some of the strain by offering a special discount for students and family members traveling with them, meaning they can make the trip to study abroad, and travel around more with less financial strain.

The airline has launched a 12-month student discount offer for both students and their families who are flying with the student ID holder. Booking from anywhere in the world before October 31 will mean entitlement to the special discounts on both economy and business class fares. Additional baggage perks will also be included in addition to the regular allowance and, handily, a free date change can be redeemed until seven days out before the initially booked day of travel.
To take advance of the offer just use the code ‘STUDENT’ to get 10% off economy class flights or 5% reduction on business class flights. All tickets do have a maximum stay validity of 12 months and a valid student ID or school acceptance letter will be required when checking in at the airport.
It’s worth bearing in mind that student or not, current Covid-19 prevention measured state that a recent negative Covid-19 PCR test certificate is required for all inbound and transit passengers arriving in Dubai (and the UAE), including UAE citizens, residents and tourists, irrespective of the country they are coming from.
