The cafe scene in Jeddah is now thriving and in Saudi Arabia there’s no better way to start the day than with a good quality of coffee.
But whether you’re a coffee person or not, cafes in Jeddah are now offering a modern cafe culture experience more in line with those in other major cities around the world.
Here are some places to start your mornings…

Beside of the catchy name, the family-run founders Abdulrahman, Hamza and Ahmed Ashgan designed the café to be one of those friendly neighborhood places that bring together a community, with comfortable areas to sit, board games and cosy spaces.
Brew 92
It has become a favorite coffee hangout for locals in Jeddah, and their coffee options are excellent, with Colombian, Ethiopian and Yemeni beans on offer. The industrial look of the place is also pretty cool.

One of the most talked about coffee shops in Jeddah, Qatarat (which means drops) has baristas – rather than just staff – serving up speciality coffee. It’s a nice setting as well, with books and places to hunker down, while in the evening they show football on the big screen.

# LAYLA’S GOURMET:
They set out on a mission to offer a slightly more healthy cafe experience and assure us that all products are all natural and contain no artificial preservatives. With good teas, cakes and tarts baked daily and a convivial setting this place is one of the more elegant venues to start a morning. Contact: +966 12 661 6176/ Website.
#BERT’S:
While international chains are not always the best to experience a cafe culture, this one has 18 branches in Paris and if they can survive there against the competition they probably have something going for them. Located in the Rawdah Star development they’ve built a reputation not only for decent coffees, but also their hot chocolate. Go in the morning though because sadly they have gone big on shisha and it gets very smoky in the evenings. There are various branches around the city.
