The coolest fitness challenge in Dubai is back and registration is now open. The Dubai Sports Council and Ski Dubai have announced that the 11th DXB Ice Warrior Challenge will go ahead on Friday, September 25.

Taking place at the indoor ski slope at Mall of the Emirates – this is the obstacle course with a difference. A novel break from the desert-based challenges, it invites the regions hardcore adrenaline fiends to conquer the 24 obstacle race – on ice!

Open to all candidates between the age of 15 to 60, the challenge is to traverse the testing monkey bars, tyre run trials and commando-style net crawls amidst the biting  -4° celsius temperature.

Last year’s challenge welcomed participants from more than 28 different countries and this year opens up a ladies-only category.

The two main categories of the event include the Elite division – for the seasoned athlete – and the other ‘for fun’ category for both ladies and gents divided into batches to tackle the course.

The only caveat on the fun this year around is centered around Covid-19 regulations. In a bid to keep the event as safe as possible for participants, organizers have announce that they will not allow any spectators, friends or family to attend. Participants will take off from the starting line in socially-distanced groups of five to also maintain safety guidelines.

For those tough enough to make it to the finish line, there’s a medal and a collectors Ice Warrior T-shirt up for grabs.

As with previous editions of DXB Ice Warrior Challenge part of any proceeds raised from the event will be donated to charity – making bearing the freeze that little bit more rewarding.

Tickets cost AED 367.50. For full details visit premieronline.com
