In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Mercedes-Maybach, renowned Spanish artist Ignasi Monreal has depicted the rich history of the automotive icon in a modern-classic artwork campaign. In a series of four artworks, Ignasi highlights the grand vision of Ola Källenius, chairman of the board of management of Daimler AG, and head of Mercedes-Benz, where the proud past, ambitious present, and limitless future of the Maybach brand are illustrated in silhouettes of mystery.

Spotlighting the car’s proposition as the “rarest Mercedes you could buy,” Monreal’s work shelved the vehicle amongst other legendary campaigns like modern art treasures and fashion campaigns. Capturing the subtle dream-like emotion of the car, the renaissance artwork-inspired brushstrokes aim to capture the one-of-a-kind high-tech experience.

Krishan Bodhani, VP and Director of Sales and Marketing of Mercedes-Benz Middle East, said: “The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class stands alone as one of the most authentically iconic luxury vehicles ever created, so it’s only natural that its legend should inspire such ground-breaking and thought-provoking artworks.”

By defining the heritage of the Maybach S-Class with heroic portraits of its legendary craftsmanship, Ignasi muraled a powerful portrait that combines distinctive features and premium finishes in a canvas of elegance. “We wanted to portray the Mercedes-Maybach as this legendary figure. The narrative begins with this group of ‘muses’ that plant an idea in Wilhelm Maybach’s head, and from there, he delivers it to the world,” Ignasi says.

Introducing a series of new features that spotlight technological breakthroughs, the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class marks the second generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience). With Interior Assists and 3D laser cameras that recognize the drivers’ movements and comply accordingly, this car isn’t just comfortable—it’s luxurious. It also comes with five display screens, a standard 12.8-inch OLED control center, and an on-request 12.3-inch state-of-the-art 3D driver display of the road’s surroundings. “The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class comforts and thrills in equal measure – attributes that helped to form the foundations for these truly unique, supremely creative and incredibly vivid works of art,” Bodhani added.
